Tip Calculator Formula
To calculate a tip, multiply the bill amount by the tip percentage (expressed as a decimal). The formula is: Tip Amount = Bill Amount × (Tip Percentage ÷ 100). Then add the tip to the bill for the total: Total = Bill Amount + Tip Amount. If splitting among multiple people, divide the total by the number of people.
For example, on a $60 bill with an 18% tip: Tip = $60 × 0.18 = $10.80. Total = $60 + $10.80 = $70.80. If splitting between 2 people: $70.80 ÷ 2 = $35.40 per person.
Tips for Using This Tip Calculator
